CBS Westland Row has a strong emphasis on the LCA Programme as well as the Leaving Certificate.

The Leaving Certificate allows the students to develop their education from the Junior Certificate, while also studying specified subjects in conjunction with the core subjects. Students can further their education, employment, training and higher education with the awarded Certificate.

The LCA programme was introduced into the Irish curriculum in 1995. The programme was aimed at providing students with an alternative Leaving Certificate in a practical form, with strong emphasis on practical and vocational skills. [16] CBS has incorporated this into their school’s regime catering for all needs of their pupils.
